Sarah & Connor's day was the perfect combination of beautiful traditions, emotional moments, gorgeous details, and a party that knows how to have a good time.
Their day began at St. Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Greenwood, Indiana, surrounded by their closest friends and family, before everyone headed over to Bay Horse Inn for the celebration. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious how much thought Sarah and Connor had put into their day. Every little detail felt personal, and every part of the day felt like them.
Getting Ready at St. Francis and Clare of Assisi
The morning started with everyone getting ready at the church. There was the usual hustle and bustle of a wedding morning, but also plenty of excitement as everyone waited for the moment Sarah would finally step into her wedding dress.
And let us just say... that dress. THAT DRESS.
Sarah wore the most beautiful off-the-shoulder ball gown. It was one of those dresses that completely commands the room when the bride walks in.
She shared a first look with her girlies, and their reactions were so sweet. You could immediately see how excited they were to see Sarah as a bride and how much the moment meant to all of them.
Then came her first look with her dad. We LOVE an emotional dad. There's just something about a dad in awe of his little girl.
Sarah and Connor didn't do a first look with each other, which of course, made seeing Connor's reaction as she walked down the aisle even sweeter!
A Beautiful Catholic Ceremony
The ceremony took place at St. Francis and Clare of Assisi, and the church itself was absolutely beautiful. The gorgeous stained glass windows gave us plenty of opportunities to incorporate the architecture into their wedding film, and we definitely took advantage of it.
One of my favorite little detail shots from the day was Sarah's ring sitting on the hymn book with the sunlight coming through the windows. There was this beautiful sun flare dancing across her ring, and it was one of those shots that just happened perfectly.
And then Sarah walked down the aisle.
Connor's chin was literally quivering. His eyes filled with tears, and you could see just how much emotion was behind that moment.
Their Catholic faith was an important part of their wedding day, and it was really beautiful to see them rooted in those traditions as they made their vows and entered into marriage surrounded by their family and friends.
After the ceremony, everyone headed outside for a bubble exit. Watching Sarah and Connor walk through a tunnel of bubbles, smiles, and cheering guests was the sweetest way to close out their ceremony before heading to the party.
Celebration at Bay Horse Inn
Then it was time to head over to Bay Horse Inn.
And this is where the day really shifted into celebration mode.
Sarah and Connor had thought of so many fun details for their reception. Their puppy made an appearance on the cocktail napkins, they had flip-flops available for guests who wanted to ditch their dress shoes and hit the dance floor, and they had personalized cutouts of their faces that made their way around the party. There was a beautiful cake cutting setup, glow sticks, a DJ booth with big S + C light up letters, a dip-n-dot station and all of those little touches that made the reception feel personal instead of just like another wedding reception.
It's always fun when couples don't just plan a beautiful wedding, but actually think about how their guests are going to experience the night, too. Sarah and Connor definitely did that.
The Best Man and Maid of Honor speeches were the perfect combination of funny and heartfelt, and they gave everyone a glimpse into just how loved Sarah and Connor are by the people closest to them.
Once the dance floor opened up, it was never empty again. This was a dancing crew and it was so fun seeing everyone bust moves with the big cut outs of Sarah and Connor's faces. One thing that is really cool about Bay Horse Inn is that it's the perfect space for everyone — gorgeous space to host a dance party but for those that aren't big on dancing, they have a great outdoor space with fire places, a saloon for grabbing a cocktail and an outdoor space for playing corn hole and mingling.
Golden Hour at Bay Horse Inn
Of course, we couldn't let a beautiful summer evening at Bay Horse Inn go by without stealing Sarah and Connor away for a few minutes during golden hour.
And it did not disappoint.
The light was gorgeous, the field was glowing, and Sarah and Connor were completely in their element and down for anything. Leonard also grabbed an incredible drone shot of the two of them out in the field, which ended up being one of our favorites.
There's something about stepping away from the reception for a few minutes and giving a couple a chance to breathe, soak everything in, and just be together. Those little pockets of time can end up being some of our favorite moments from an entire wedding day and oftentimes, the couple's favorite time, too!
Sarah + Connor
One of the biggest takeaways we had from Sarah and Connor's wedding day was just how genuinely kind these two are.
They're the kind of people who make you feel comfortable right away, and we had so much fun getting to spend their wedding day with them. We feel incredibly lucky that couples trust us to step into such an important day in their lives and preserve these moments for them.
Sarah and Connor, thank you for trusting us to capture your wedding day. It was such an honor to be there for all of it.
We hope that every time you watch your wedding film, you're transported right back to that June day — back to those vows made at the altar, the bubbles outside the church, the golden hour in the field, and a room full of people celebrating the two of you.
We're so grateful we got to be a small part of it.
With so much love,
